Emotional Positions was OPEN’s launch event and took place at RCA Battersea on Wednesday 6 March 2019. The evening began with ‘Making Space’, a Ciudad Abierta-inspired intervention, whereby participants wove their way around the Gorvy Lecture Theatre with wool as they introduced themselves to new people. Celebrated writer and scholar Elif Shafak gave a keynote speech on the theme of emotional positionality, which was followed by an essay sprint and session of emotional parcour.
